Established on the year 1994, The Orissa Puja Committee, Bangalore(OPC) has been celebrating the Vinayaka Chatruthi till date. The main motto of celebrating the Vinayak Chaturthi is to bring all the Oriyas staying in and around of the Bangalore city under one roof and to create the harmony among the people from same state. And in this process the committee has been somehow achieving its goal in a big way. The number of gathering in the Vinayaka Chatruthi is getting increased year after year. In the year 1994, when the celebration was started under the banner of OPC the total numbers of people attending the Puja was only 30 including the children. And if you will compare the last year�s gathering with the 1994�s gathering then it is very clear that the number of people attended the Vinayaka Chatruthi organized by the OPC, is increasing year after year. Because Last year total numbers of people attended the Puja was around 2300 (Two thousand three hundred) in numbers. And it shows the popularity it is bringing among the people of Bangalore years after years.

When a handful of Oriya youths, who had come over to Bangalore to earn their bread and butter, started the Puja first time in 1994 they did not think that it will take such a big shape in a small period of time. And now it is so popular among the Oriyas and the non-oriyas of Bangalore that it has been listed in the heart of the Oriyas those who has been attending the same since long. It becomes an annual get-together place for the people those do not have time to meet their old friends and the relatives.

Now the question arises from where does the money come from to organize the Vinayaka Chatruthi in such a big way? The major share of the expenditure has been collected from a fixed group of people, those who are selflessly contributing to make the big function a grand success and a memorable one. And slowly some other people are also started contributing as per their strength. And we really moved by the gesture shown by them and also expect the same from the others too.

First time this year the Shree Jagannath Trust, Bangalore, want to make this as a platform to popularize the trust's activities among the Oriyas and organizing few cultural programme too to make this years Puja a colorful and memorable one. But by no mean they are related to the Orissa Puja Committee since the Shree Jagannath Trust is a fully non-religious organization. Simply they are utilizing the mass gathering to achieve their goal.

At last but not the least, we welcome all of you to attend this 10th year�s Vinayaka chaturthi celebration organized by OPC.
